18/07: Make it rain
Take it, Tom.
… that being what we need most about now.
Apparently the advice is: I could/should still be watering the grass, what with the relatively low draw city water takes from the river, and the fact that the city would rather the river got that tiny percentage lower from keeping my grass and trees relatively green, rather than from the fire department having to extinguish them after they catch fire.
I hadn’t been, mostly, by the way. Watering much, that is. Communal responsibility/guilt thing. I’d had some timers and soaker hoses on some fresh planting out front, killed them when we got into level two drought, since the seed was well along and I figured, hell, grass comes back, usually, anyway, long as it had been well-enough established first. I’ll water the roses and the now slightly yellow pear tree, but otherwise, there’s others I figured may need that water more. I may revise that, now, what with the fire issues.
Measure of the times, tho’, that yesterday’s storm and tornado warnings were actually kinda welcome…
I mean, what, it’s coming down to 18 degrees? But there’s a small chance the roof is going to get ripped off, as the system moves in?
Fair enough. Good deal, pretty much. I’ll take it.
(/I do still seem to be taking the heat a little better now, despite the general severity, by the way. As previously reported: a ton of cardio, a little less fat for insulation, it all does seem to have helped. And I guess I picked the right year to see what this might do.)
