… or, okay, I hope it’s just bruised.

I spent ten days at Tremblant, over the holidays. We did the standard midwinter thing there—dead conifer hauled into the condo, stockings filled, etc.

And despite it being kinda marginal, on and off—rain coming in toward the end—I did get out every day. For many hours, most days. Only really wimped out second day to last, when it was really getting stupid—runs mostly frozen ice due to plunging temperatures after the rain. That day, I did maybe an hour and a half. All other days were rather more involved. Including several first tracks-to-last-chair marathons.

Mostly good fun. Did many aerials, worked liked crazy on switch, especially a few days when the kids weren’t ‘round and it made as much sense as anything. More bulletins will follow. Photos in editing right now, and there’s a pile.

But re that bruise: ten days I’m careful as hell, as always. As knees don’t fix so easy, and I hope still to have mine in another decade. Landing those aerials gentle, wearing pads, etc…

And on the morning of the last day (yesterday), some (expletive deleted) hits me hard from behind, me coming down a mild green run, escorting the kids. Figure she was a beginner, really moving, barely in control. Bad news. I normally dodge pretty neatly around that silliness, but like I said: from behind. What are ya gonna do.

Thought I’d rolled out of it pretty cleanly, but some minutes later I’m noticing twinges in my left knee. I’m still hoping it’s just a bruise—it’s only been a little more than 30 hours, now—but I guess we’ll see what it does over the next few days.
