So the manuscript to novel the second (or the novella that became a novel) is now complete—insofar as it now contains a complete story arc. How much cutting/culling ‘n other stuff it might still need, I guess, is still a matter of opinion. It’s out to a few well-respected cold readers, and I figure I’ll sleep on it a bit, too, while they mull and compose reactions.

This is nice to be able to say. I’d been having trouble finishing stuff (never mind starting it) for a while, there. Was starting to think I was never gonna have another complete story of any length in any form, for a while. Nice to be able to call something done.

Next decision is: go back to the thing I’d trunked mid-edit and try to finish turning it back into something coherent again or open a new doc… I’m considering just flipping a coin. Probably makes for as sane a decision as anything.
